Nigeria Army moves to promote 256 Lieutenants to Captain

The Nigerian Army will on Monday conduct promotion examination for 256 Lieutenants who are due to be promoted to the rank of Captain.

The exercise is in line with the Army forecast of event in the calendar year of 2019 which empowers the Training and Doctrine Command Department of the Nigeria Army to examine, train and promote personnel according to the laws governing the Military.

In a statement signed by the Spokesperson 3 Division Nigerian Army, Major Ikechukwu Eze, and a copy made available to our correspondent reads that the examination and training will commence from 4th – 8th February 2019.

“In line with the Nigerian Army (NA) Forecast of Events 2019, the Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Nigerian Army will conduct the Lieutenant to Captain Practical Promotion Examination (LCPPE) 2019 in 3 Division Area of Responsibility.

“About 256 candidates will be tested on Map Reading, Tactics, and Low Intensity Conflicts, Communications, French Language and Staff Duties.

“The Examination is intended to test the professional and intellectual ability of the candidates as well as to improve on their knowledge base and capability in the discharge of their professional duties.

“Representative from the Department of Army Training and Operations, team of observers from Army Headquarter (AHQ) Departments, members of the Examination Panel and Directing Staff (DS) drawn from formations and units of the Nigerian Army will participate in the conduct of the examination.

“Consequently, there will be movements of Military vehicles conveying candidates in selected field locations within the city and environs for the examination.

“Therefore, members of the public resident within Jos and environs are hereby informed and advised not to panic on seeing consistent movement of troops within the stipulated period of the exercise”, the statement read.
