There was mixed feelings on Thursday at the valedictory session of the 8th State House of Assembly in northcentral Nigeria’s Plateau State, when lawmakers took turns to appraise their performance for the past four years.
The session was packed full with lawmakers taking turns to speak on their experiences since 2015 when the Assembly was inaugurated.
Notable was a lawmaker representing Qua’an Pan South Constituency of Plateau, Hon. Mohammed Abubakar Balo.
The lawmaker popularly known as Balo, is also the Deputy Majority Leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), at the just concluded 8th Assembly.
Sky News Africa’s correspondent, reports that other lawmakers thronged around him admiring his spectacular outfit.
Balo commended his colleagues for working tirelessly in preserving the Assembly as an institution.
The lawmaker who is also returning to the 9th Assembly said, it was his desire to serve his constituency that brought him on board.
“We have preserved this institution for others to come and make their contribution.
“We may not have served perfectly but we represented the highest standard of integrity. May God bless us all,” he said.
