A Nigerian group under the aegis of “Plateau Regeneration”, in North Central Plateau State, on Wednesday said the State Governor, Simon Lalong was misquoted on the issue of the proposed Ruga settlement, when he visited the President, Muhammadu Buhari, at the country’s State house on Monday.
Although President Buhari has postponed the policy, the group said the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), should learn to understand the governor when sensitive issues are on the front burner.
Our correspondent recalls that a similar group known as Berom Youth Moulders (BYM), on Tuesday called on Mr. Lalong to refrain from the Ruga policy.
However, the Plateau Regeneration group, in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, said the attempt by politicians to drag the Ruga policy into politics is a negative pointer to democracy and should be discouraged by all Nigerians, the statement said.
