Nigerian Army to engage local football club ‘Plateau United’

NIGERIA

Nigerian Army is set to engage a local football club, Plateau United in a friendly match aimed at boosting civil military relationship to better forester synergy.

The 3 Division Maxwell Kobe Rukuba Cantonment Barracks, believes that through sports the hearts and minds of the civilian populace will be warn, says the 3div. General Officer Commanding (GOC), Maj. Gen. Nuhu Angbazo.

The GOC said Army will file out its finest Green Berets Officers football team, to do battle with the Plateau United boys on Friday 25th October 2019, in Jos the city capital, adding that the initiative is the first ever soccer competition the 3div. will host.

In a communication with our correspondent, the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Ikechukwu Eze, said Gen. Angbazo considers sports as very vital in maintaining excellent relationship between the Army and other Nigerian citizens.

He said Senior Military Officers, Heads of Security Agencies and other prominent civilian friends of the Division will all be in attendance to watch the match.
