Nigeria’s former Youth President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOUWICAN), Engr. Daniel Kadzai, has called on Nigerians to dedicate the Christmas celebration to loving one another.

Kadzai, who is also the newly elected National Youth Leader, Congress of Northern Nigerian Christians (CNNC), in his goodwill message to the country at Christmas, called for the revival of the values of love and unity to move the nation forward.

He urged Nigerians to key into the spirit of the season in their relationship with one another, embrace peace, live in harmony with their neighbours, eschew bitterness and join hands to steer the ship of the nation towards prosperity.

“The core message of Christmas is love as demonstrated by God, who gave his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to be born as man for our salvation. This season is therefore a call to show unconditional love, for we cannot claim to love God if we do not show love to our fellow men created in the image and likeness of God”.

Kadzai thanked God for the success of the 2019 General elections, especially for helping Nigeria to overcome the prediction of doom and gloom that had come from different quarters.

He called on political leaders to take a cue from the resilience and determination of Nigerians and find ways to work together, rather than keep fanning the embers of divide and disunity.

The Youth leader of CNNC commended the Federal Government for responding to the criticism by many, about its apparent reluctance to obey court orders.

He saluted the decision of the government to release Omoyele Sowore and Sambo Dasuki, who, according to reports, have valid court orders granting them bail.

“As the rule of law is the bedrock of democracy, actions in disobedience or disrespect of the law can only whittle down the potency of our institutions, making the drive for a virile democracy and better society for the good of all, difficult to realise.”

The CNNC leader enjoined the Federal Government to go further to ensure that all others who might have been detained beyond the period permissible in law are processed and released in accordance with the rule of law.

The Youth Leader Congress of Northern Nigerian Christians wished all Nigerians a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
