It was end game for 20 bandits in Nigeria’s northcentral Plateau State, when the Military Task Force caught up with them through intelligent gathering thereby putting an end to their nefarious activities.

Commander of the Force, Major General Chukwuemeka Okonkwo, at the weekend said the criminals were over 60 but 20 has been profiled and would be handed over to the police for prosecution.

“20 criminals were arrested in different parts of Jos metropolis during an operation launched by the task-force to bring sanity in the State. The criminals are responsible in the various civil unrest that has hitherto bedeviled the State in the past few months, ranging from phone snatching, rape, cultism, crisis merchants and armed robbery”, Okonkwo said.

Our correspondent however gathered that in one of the hoodlums’ recent deadly attacks, some of them known as Sara-suka boys were moving round the popular Bauchi road area in Jos-north Local Government Council, with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons, cutting innocent citizens at random, and escaping with their belongings.

Items recovered from them include Indian hemps, cannabis sativa, machetes, swords of various types of dagger and knives, Okonkwo said.

Also in another development the Force said it has arrested a fake soldier simply identified as Dogo James, along Kashim Ibrahim location of Jos North Local Government Area, following a tip-off.

The impostor was caught with a fake military identity card in a full regalia of military uniform.

The arrest of the impostor led to the arrest of a printer who specializes in printing different forms of ID cards for fake security agencies, Gen. Okonkwo explained to Journalist.

The printer who gave his name as Dotun Emmanuel said he has been in business producing fake ID cards of various security agencies for more than six years.

“Items recovered from them include assorted identity cards of security personnel, 2 Dell Desktop Computers, 3 CPU and 2 Canon ID cards Printers”, the taskforce boss said.
