The faction saga that has rocked Nigeria’s Labour Party with Alhaji Lamidi Apapa emerging as the factional Chairman of the party was on Wednesday, found its wings to Nigeria’s north central State of Plateau, with Comrade Solomon Ndam emerging as its State Acting Chairman.

Ndam during the inauguration of 17 Local Government Chairmen of the party in the State, said the end of dictatorship and irregularities that marred the previous administration in the State, led by Mrs Grace Zamfara is over. “The era of double nominations and forgery is gone and this new leadership has ushered in another era of accountability and prudence.

“I, as your brand new Chairman, urge you 17 LGA Chairmen of the party to go all out there and preach the gospel of Change, because laxity can’t be tolerated. We must educate the electorate and blow away the false propaganda going round that Alhaji Lamidi Apapa has come to destroy the party”, Ndam said in Jos, the city capital.

“I urge you all to take the bull by the horn and ensure the Labour Party is victorious in all the rerun within the State and the 2027 next general elections. I and my State excos will not relent in our efforts in supporting you to achieve the set goals”, the acting chairman emphasised.

On positioning itself as a formidable opposition in the State, Ndam called for the impeachment of the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, saying that the Governor has not been accountable with State resources. He said Mutfwang has not accounted for the N5 billion given to him by the federal government as palliative to reduce the suffering of the people as a result of the removal of fuel subsidy.

“Another impeachable offense of the Governor is that the five hundred million naira (N500,000,000), meant for the IDPs as provided by the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu has also not been accounted for”, Ndam added.
