The Jos Electricity Company in north central Nigeria also known as Jos DisCo, has introduced a seamless means to transmit bill consumption to its customers, an innovation that is called “E-Billing System”, where customers, going forward, will receive their monthly bill through mobile phones.

The departure from analogue paper print system, will not only save production cost for the company but will also eliminate ambiguity that comes with the analogue bill payment.

“This will also end the incessant allegations from some of our customers denying the delivery of their monthly consumed energy to them by our marketers”, the energy company said.

However, the exciting height for the company was made known to our correspondent on Saturday, in a statement signed by Jos Disco’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Friday Adakole Elijah.

Elijah said the mobile phone billing system will commence on November 1, 2024.

“Starting from November 1st, 2024 the company will be transiting from paper bills to e-bills as customers are expected to receive their monthly energy consumption bills conveniently via SMS.

“Some benefits of E-Billing include time-saving as there will be no more waiting for paper bills. Efficient delivery as bills will be delivered directly to customers’ mobile phones. Enhanced accuracy of digital records for easy tracking as well as reduction of paper waste amongst others.

He Continued: “This innovative solution will ensure timely and secure bill delivery, empowering customers to manage their energy consumption effortlessly”, he said.

The company urged its consumers to embrace the new innovation for the common good of all as customer satisfaction remains the cardinal focus of the company.
