Officers visited a property in Castle Drive, Margate, at about 3.35am on Thursday after concerns were raised for the occupants’ welfare.

Two “young children” were taken to hospital by ambulance and later pronounced dead, Kent Police said.

During the day, a forensics officer was seen leaving the house carrying two large bags, while one of his colleagues, also dressed in a white suit, stood in the doorway with a camera.

The property is on a new-build estate on the outskirts of the town.
