Commander of the Special Taskforce in Nigeria’s north-central Plateau State, Major General Augustine Agundu, has warned beneficiaries of crisis to stop promoting farmers’ herders’ conflict.

Agundu said those promoting the crisis are taking advantage of the face off to enrich themselves.

The Commander of Force stated this recently at a Sallah launch party organised for officers and men of the taskforce.

“There is nothing like farmers’ herders’ conflict, those promoting it are doing so to get funds from donors and government to enrich themselves. If you go round the state you will find that peace and understanding exist among the people, except for some miscreants who always want to ferment trouble.

“There is also nothing like land grabbing, and anyone who has taken land belonging to another person or community shall be recovered”, Agundu said. He enjoined citizens to join hands with security agencies to rid the State from every form of criminality.
