Nigeria entertainers Joe B, Malangwa, boosting Plateau image

Jos top entertainers, Joe B entertainment industry and On Air Personality (OAP), Malangwa, for over two decades have used their platforms to project the positive image of Plateau State.

Joe B who responded to Jonathan Godswill and Malangwa, also known as Roland in an interview said if the creative industry of the State is active, Plateau will yield more income hence boost its IGR.

They said they are always committed to supporting government efforts in developing and promoting the tourism sector, describing it as a vital tool for boosting the state’s economy and cultural heritage.

“Plateau Creative Industry is the solution to reduce unemployment among youths” they opined.

The duo added that it has become necessary to change the negative portrayal of the State in social media which can also be achieved with an active creative industry.

“There is a need to change the wrong narratives being pushed into the media space about the State.

“We want to ensure that all the energy in the industry is harnessed to showcase the achievements of Governor Caleb Mutfwang”, the duo said.

They entertainers agreed that the Governor had transformed the economy of the State and had touched the lives of residents positively.

“Gov Mutfwang is passionate about developing the entertainment sector to boost tourism in the State. So, we need other stakeholders’ maximum support for it to be sustained”.

Speaking further, they called for a State brand instead of individual brands for quicker development of the industry.

They regretted that conspiracy theory had remained the bane of development of the industry in Plateau, calling for a synergy and unity of purpose among the creatives.

“Before now, artists were seen as unserious people, but now the motion has changed”.

They advised other artists to join hands to portray the State positively, regretting that Plateau had been portrayed negatively in the limelight recently.

“Negative vibes gave the State a negative status around the world, which has dwindled the chances of people coming into the State for business and relaxation.

“We will continue to use our craft to project the State and all the good works of the Governor”, they said.
