Nigerian monarch flays security agencies, others on Jos Disco’s electricity installations

A monarch in Nigeria’s northcentral Plateau State, has issued a stain warning to security agencies in his locality, informing them that he will deal with any personal found wanting in protecting electricity installations in the community.

The paramount ruler also extended the warning to his fellow traditional rulers under him, charging them to take ownership of the installations as the community is a direct beneficiary of all Jos Disco’s equipment.

He said they will all remain in darkness should they not all join hands to protect what illuminates their locality.

Speaking during a curtesy call paid to him by staff of the energy company (Jos DisCo) recently, the monarch, known as the Ngolon Gas of Pankshin and Kanke Chiefdom in Plateau State, Nde Jika Golit, said electricity vandalism must be a collective fight if the war must be won.

Commending Jos DisCo for the visit, Golit said: “I am ready to sanction any traditional leader or security outfit within my domain who fails to give adequate protection to electricity facilities in my area. These facilities are serving us”, he said.

He, therefore, charged the management of the energy company to also improve on electricity supply in their area.

The monarch was prompt to make the comment when the Chief Security Officer of Jos DisCo, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, appealed to him to be a participant observer, a statement signed by the Head, Corporate Communications of the company, Dr. Friday Adakole Elijah, said.
