Northcentral Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has vowed to make the State, business friendly as well as peaceful, capable of attracting investors.
Mutfwang said economic growth will not elude the state irrespective of hoodlums activities that have determined to run the growth of the state down.
The Governor informed that his administration is working round the clock to ensure the peaceful environment is not only achieved but is equally sustained.
He made this known while receiving a high-powered delegation from the European Union (EU) and Search for Common Ground who visited the State Government to explore partnership opportunities in peacebuilding and development.
Represented by the Commissioner for information and communication, Hon Joyce Ramnap, Mutfwang said the state government is working tirelessly to revamp critical sectors of the economy of Plateau.
“Pateau is ready to partner globally for peace and sustainable development”, the Governor said.
However, the Commissioner reiterated Mutfwang’s commitment to peace through platforms like the Plateau State Advisory Council on Interreligious Harmony, the Plateau State Peacebuilding Agency and Operation Rainbow.
Speaking earlier, the delegation, led by Gift Omoniwa, Acting Country Director of Search for Common Ground, included Mr. Ruben Alba (EU Team Lead), Winifred Achu (EU Program Manager), and other officials from Search for Common Ground, Ms Omoniwa said their visit evaluated the EU-funded IRENEW project which strengthened interfaith harmony and youth engagement across Plateau’s 17 LGAs.
They expressed interest in further collaboration with the State on peace and early conflict response systems.
Ruben Alba assured of the EU’s commitment to adding value to Agriculture, ICT and Infrastructural development.
Also in a related development, the Plateau State Government also received a high-profile delegation from the United States, led by Ambassador Dr. Linda Kaleidoscope, at the Government House.
The delegation’s visit aimed to collaborate efforts with the government to invest in key sectors such as agriculture, education, tourism, and initiatives benefiting women and children, under the slogan “Dream Plateau, Change Plateau”.

The Commissioner thanked the delegation for choosing the State to invest in, highlighting that the government is open for investments that will bring dividends of democracy, innovation, and development to the state.
