Nigeria’s money Coy 4STONE Capital, affirms suspended staff Osakwe, has fraud case to answer

A financial company in Nigeria’s southwest Lagos, 4STONE Capital, has insisted that one of its staff who is currently on suspension, as a result of financial scam, Mrs. Chioma Osakwe has a pending case to answer with the Nigeria Police.

The company had earlier published a public notice in one of the dailies informing the public that Mrs Osakwe was on suspension and cannot represent 4STONE Capital in any capacity.

The notice reads: “To our valued clients, partners, and the general public. We hereby inform the general public that Mrs. Chioma Osakwe is currently on indefinite suspension as regards a fraud case which is being investigated by the Nigerian Police and so cannot act as a representative of 4Stone Capital.

“WARNING! Please be advised not to engage in any financial transactions or dealings with Mrs. Chioma Osakwe in her capacity as a representative of 4Stone Capital Limited, as any interactions with her are at your own risk”, the public notice informed.

However, responding to the notice, Osakwe through the same platform, refuted the claims saying that she is no longer a staff of 4STONE Capital as she tendered a resignation letter.

In its response, the financial house stated that her resignation letter was refused because of the ongoing fraud investigation by the Police and that she was at the centre of this investigation.

According to Yvonne Olasogba, Executive Director of HR and Business Development at 4STONE Capital, Osakwe’s resignation letter was refused due to the ongoing investigation by the company and the police.

“Until the matter is conclusively investigated and resolved, her resignation cannot be accepted,” Olasogba stated.

The financial house revealed that Osakwe was invited to appear before the company’s Disciplinary Committee, alongside others, but she ignored the invitation. Instead, she sent another resignation letter, which was also not accepted in writing. Consequently, Osakwe was placed on suspension pending the outcome of the police investigation.

Responding to Osakwe’s claim that she had never been fingered as a suspect in the financial fraud, Olasogba questioned why she was picked up by the police and taken to Abuja in May 2025, and why her phone was held for a month for forensic investigation.

Olasogba presented proof of a letter from the Nigerian Police headquarters, inviting Osakwe for interrogation.

Given that she has so many unanswered questions relating to the investigation her resignation cannot be accepted.
